Paper Shirt ( 6 Steps, Super Easy!)
I recently made some invites for a Girl Scout event. When designing the invite, I wanted to somehow incorporate the uniform worn by the Scouts (a white shirt and a vest) into the invite. I quickly realized this required that I learn how to make a shirt out of paper (a paper shirt). I am NOT a fan of origami! I just can't wrap my mind around the countless meticulous folds required in order to make something sorta recognizable. Well, I did some research, watched a couple of origami videos (torture!!!!) and experimented and practiced until I simplified the process and mastered making a paper shirt in 6 step!!! Yep, 6 STEPS!!!

Despicable Me Minion Birthday Party Game-
My little one recently celebrated her 5th birthday. We had a Minion (from "Despicable Me) themed birthday party. One of my favorite birthday party games is pin the tail on the donkey. Well, here is my "minion-ized" (totally not a real word!!) version of the game: Pin the Eyes/Goggles on the Minion!!

Despicable Me Minion Twinkies
My little one is obsessed with the minions from Despicable Me (1 & 2). So much so that this year's theme for her 5th birthday is....(drumroll please)...DESPICABLE ME MINIONS!
I have so many minion projects running amok in my head--everything from cupcakes, to piƱatas, to balloons, to invites, to decorations.
Here is one that is super cute and super easy--THE MINION TWINKIE!! Because you can't look at a Twinkie without thinking "hey, kinda shaped like a minion."

Button Bowl
I am still on my button kick. This time I decided to make a button bowl. This button bowl was inspired by a Pinterest pin. Since this is my first attempt at a button bowl, I decided to down size to a much smaller bowl.

Peacock Button Art
I love peacocks. I love buttons. It was only a matter of time before I was inspired to combine the two. This idea has been bouncing around in my head for a little bit. So I finally decided to give it form. I love the end result.

My First Quiet Book
Months ago I decided to make MY FIRST QUIET BOOK. My need for absolute perfection meant the book took MONTHS to complete. While I had a general idea of what I wanted to accomplish, I have to admit that my ideas evolved as the book progressed, resulting in a book beyond what I originally envisioned.
I love, love, love my book. More importantly and so much more gratifying is that my daughter loves it too.

The Crafty Crazy
Those who know me know how much I love all things crafty. What started out as a hobby has evolved into a full blown obsession. Yes, obsession!!!
What started out as my daughter's playroom has now been hijacked and transformed into my crafting room. She tolerates my presence as long as I allow her unfettered access to all of my crafting supplies. I'm ok with that because she is a chip off the old CRAFTY CRAZY block and loves crafting too. The husband, on the other hand, is clearing out the basement for me in the hopes I move shop. He thinks I'm a CRAFTY CRAZY and need to be locked away.
My household and family serve as my inspiration. My little girl is 4 going on 21! I have 3 cats and 3 dogs. My husband is a techno geek, science nut and hater of crafts stores. LOL My extended family is populated with doctors, lawyers, teachers, tree huggers, travelers, hoarders and even a few rocket scientists. This all makes for a crazy, hectic, but also comical life that I would not trade for all the glue and glitter in the world. :)
So why "THE CRAFTY CRAZY"? Well, it's simple really. I am CRAFTY and my husband often calls me CRAZY. So, why not embrace it. He suggested I start a blog to "share my crafts with the world." In truth, I suspect he is hoping by starting a blog I'll stop torturing him with my constant craft chatter. Epic fail on that one because now I get to torture him with constant crafty blog chatter. Not to mention he is also my official crafts photographer and now he has to get those pictures in order for me too. So HA!!!
Well, I'm excited about the blog and look forward to sharing my projects, both the good and the bad.
Happy crafting!
